Progress or vandalism? Panoramic photos of Mallorca's scars, and a series of b/w photos on the theme of a high-chair.

Opening hours: Wednesday to Friday from 17:00 to 21:00 / Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 to 14:00 or by appointment.

The exhibition will run until August 15.

Wadalupe – Sunday, August 9

Mediterranean music from Barcelona

Poetic and musical language that creates a feeling of intimacy and puts us in touch with our feelings. Wadalupe was born in 2004 in Barcelona to create a musical framework for the songs of Marta Esteve. Bernat Torras, Gerard Cantero, Marc Caballero and Joan Gil put their talents together to create an original style which weaves the romantic texts of Esteve with a touch of latin beat, brushstrokes of flamenco and a certain Mediterranean air.

Weekly activities, workshops and classes

Sa Taronja is offering a variety of courses this summer, given by members of the Association.

The most unusual offering this summer is a workshop to create an AEOLIAN HARP, during the weekend of 5-6 September. The cost of 150.00 for the two day, 8 hour workshop includes all materials, an illustrated lecture on the history of the Aeolian Harp, and instruction by luthier Fernando Rubin. Each participant will go home with a working instrument to fit into a window.

Basketmaker Gisela Leupoldt is proposing a three-day workshop, an introduction to BASKETRY, probably the oldest craft in the world. In this introductory course which takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, participants will learn about different basketweaving techniques, soaking and preparing the materials, and will each complete a project. Cost is 120 € for the 15 hour workshop, including materials. Dates to be confirmed based on number of students.

Juul Jacobs, a Dutch artist who works in resins, is offering workshops at Sa Taronja for artists interested in exploring the sculptural possibilities of plastics, polyester, polyurethane and epoxy resins. A unique opportunity for hands-on experience. Courses can be arranged on weekdays or at weekends

Is presenting a cycle of intensive workshops in Tai Chi, Chi Kung and meditation, for beginners and advanced students. See Saturday, August 15

- KATIE STEVENS offers DOAIST EXERCISES FOR HEALTH & LONGEVITY, plus head and facial exercises entitled RESTORING THE LOOK OF YOUTH. This Chinese method, from the Huashan Mountains School, is based on stimulation of the Xiadan, the internal reproductive system; the resulting increase in the secretion of sex hormones is said to influence the healthy function of all the body's organs. When it comes to staying young, this make sense! (Note: These guys were monks.)

Barbara Buchholz will be giving two intensive Theremin workshops in Mallorca, 10-14 August, and 21-25 September, in connexion with Sa Taronja in Andratx. A group of maximum 5 students will meet with Barbara for classes daily from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Barbara Buchholz has retrieved the theremin from oblivion and is finding new uses and applications for it in contemporary music. Known internationally for her mastery of the instrument, she is in demand as a performer and teacher.

“First steps with the theremin”. For musicians without any experience of the theremin. To play the theremin is like singing with your “inner voice“. Anyone who loves singing already has the prerequisites.
- 21.-25. September, Workshop B for Advanced Players
“First have music in your soul.” (quote by Clara Rockmore)
A seminar for theremin musicians who already have basic knowledge; ear training, technics for the left and the right hand, phrasing, articulation, various concepts of improvisation, jazz-standards, classic literature.

A methodological synthesis of the dialogue between the Cos-Art method and Contemporary Dance, which shows us how to inhabit our bodies sensitively and consciously, producing movement in a way that is personal and free of stereotypes. It gives us freedom of movement and at the same time provides a guide to internal and spatial pathways.
