NEW!

Sa Taronja now has a fully equipped and operating DARKROOM for printing black-and-white (analogue) photos.

If you are a photographer with darkroom experience who would like to use these facilities, get in touch with us.
For those without experience who would like to learn to develop and print photos the old-fashioned way, we will be running workshops on darkroom technique and on creating and using a pinhole camera, starting now.

What is a pinhole camera? Basically, it's a cardboard (or metal) box, with a pin hole in one of its walls and sensitized photographic paper on the opposite wall.

"Pinhole imagery may be photography's equivalent of drawing with chalk. Simple. Cheap. Accessible to anyone. Capable of astonishing, sophisticated results. This is photography's sleight of hand. The fact that we can produce a quality image on sensitized materials without a lens fascinates and inspires. Out of nothing comes something..." David F. Stein

Details of the 10-hour course on Pinhole Photography (30 april, 7 and 21 May), see below.

Saturday 2 and Sunday, April 3

The Andratx Fair:

Sa Taronja's lemon trees (unsprayed - organic) are heavy with fruit.

As usual, we are inviting members, friends and the public to join us in making various lemon products that will be sold to benefit the association. All helpers go home with a couple of pots of marmalade or lemon curd.

Come with your friends (and, please, glass jars or bottles) and make our Lemon Day a success.

Note: this is not an activity suitable for small children, but children and families are welcome to come and "pick their own" - we sell our organic oranges and lemons for the benefit of Sa Taronja.

11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Participation fee: 5 €

Lunch available by reservation.

Activity cancelled in case of rain

Great news! Our beloved restaurant Limón y Chelo is re-opening - with a new look and a new menu.

Our cook Mariano Torres whose cooking delighted so many of you last year
presents a short menu of delicious starters, main courses and desserts at crisis-busting prices.

Come and join us in a drink to celebrate! The opening includes the inauguration of "La Nueva Vida de las Cosas", a show by artist Moussa, who specializes in using recycled materials, and will be accompanied by the Cuban rhythms of duo Sergio Álvarez (guitar) and Iván Saint Ives (trumpet and percussion).

We hope to see lots of you on Friday night. The music, the art and the first drink are free! Tell your friends!

One of the best ways you can support Sa Taronja - and we need your support more than ever this year - is by attending our events and visiting our restaurant. And let us have your feed-back, please.

Once again we owe a big debt of gratitude to Hasso Rentacar, sponsors of the program since 2007. Their unfailing support makes a big difference to us, and also to the musicians who benefit directly and are able to visit our beautiful island, courtesy of their cars. Thank you, Hasso!
