Chamber music with members and friends of the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin (DSO):
Selina Lohmüller (clarinet) Kamila Glass (violin) Anna Kirichenko (piano)
are presenting works by Aram Khachaturian, Claude Debussy, Igor Stravinsky and Joseph Horovitz.
On Saturday June 6, we present a new concert in the Serenata Berlin series in Sa Taronja’s theatre. Once again, we welome the musicians and friends of the DSO (German Symphony Orchestra of Berlin). Violinist Kamilia Glass, the organiser of the series out of Berlin, has frequently appeared on our stage, and fans of Serenata will remember the wonderful pianist Anna Kirichenko who was with us for a quintet in our 2008 series. The new face this time is rising star clarinettist Selina Lohmüller.  Interestingly, in the over 50 concerts we have given with Serenata Berlin in Sa Taronja, we have never had a piano-violin-clarinet trio. The unusual programme, featuring works by very diverse composers, was put together by this trio for a concert in the great concert hall of the cruise ship “Euopa” (five times larger than the Titanic…) last summer. Selina, still only 28, has notched up some impressive engagements in her short career, playing with the Berlin Philharmonic and many other major German orchestras, and from 2012-2014 was soloist with the DSO. All three are looking forward to presenting this wonderful music in the much less glamourous, but far more intimate, space of Sa Taronja.  It will probably be the last full classical concert before the autumn, so we hope many of Mallorca’s music lovers will be there.

The programme:  Aram Khachaturian: Trio for clarinet, violin and piano (1932)
Claude Debussy: Sonata for violin and piano G minor (1917)
Joseph Horovitz: Sonatina for clarinet and piano (1981)
Igor Stravinsky: Suite from „L´histoire du soldat“ for clarinet, violin and piano (1919)

Theatre in Sa Taronja:

by Rebecca Alabert (in Catalan) / 5 €

'Dali is dead,' is a show that is based on the death of Salvador Dalí, using the language of the Buffon to enter the surreal world of the painter. The character of the Buffon, the clown, a grotesque universal that is beyond good and evil but which has a deep connnection with the common unconscious, lets us laugh at our own death and the decay of our bodies.

There will be dinner and bar service in Sa Nau from 20h.

A fanatical nurse is taking care of Salvador Dalí in his last days of his life. The nurse, mistress of ceremonies and spiritual guide, constructs a religion of surrealism, bringing the public into the ritual, so that she can finally become Salvador Dali. She also recreates the figure of the artist’s own muse, Gala, assistant and guide to the same Salvador Dali. These two clowns lead the public through a maze of sensations which ends in their conversion to Surrealism.

MOVIE NIGHT and tapas in Sa Nau: "Holy Motors"
(USA, 2012)
"Holy Motors". Film by Leos Carax.

SYNOPSIS: Between dawn and dusk: a few hours in the presence of Oscar, a person who travels from life to life. He is now a high executive, now a murderer, then a beggar, a monstrous creature, a parent of kids... Mr. Oscar is an actor of many roles, immersing himself completely in each, but… where are the cameras? He is alone, accompanied only by Céline, a large blonde lady who runs the vast machine that transports him to Paris and its suburbs. Like a conscientious murderer going from paycheck to paycheck. On a quest for the beauty of a gesture. The motor that drives the action. Women, and the ghosts of his life. But …where are you at home, where is your family, your peace?

MOVIE NIGHT and Tapas in Sa Nau:

directed by Achero Mañas (2003), original version in Spanish.
Cast: Óscar Jaenada, Ingrid Rubio, Javier Ríos etc

Impelled by a spirit which still preserves a patina of idealism, Alfredo arrives in Madrid intent on creating "a performance which is more free, straight from the heart, capable of making people feel alive". His concept of what theater should be begins beyond the stage, out in the streets face to face with the public. Outdoors, in any town square, in a park or in the city's most commercial street, Alfredo and his troupe NOVEMBER start the show: demons to provoke passers-by, displays of social conscience, actions taken to the extreme to put the forces of law and order on full alert. There are no limits, no censorship; only ideas which are always valid so long as the public ceases to be the public and becomes part of the show swept by surprise, fear, tears or laughter.
