Come and visit us at our stand at the Andratx Agricultural Fair (1-2 April) and pick up information about the activities this month.
Apart from our regular programme such as the Jazz Club (6th and 20th) there some special events:
Saturday evening, April 8th, we present the first of a series of chamber music concerts brought to us by the members and friends of the DSO (Berlin Symphony Orchestra). This is the beginning of a six month cycle, exclusive to Sa Taronja. The full program is available now, and you can reserve in advance to ensure your place at each of the concerts, which will take place in Sa Taronja’s romantic setting.
On Friday April 14th will be the Vernissage of an exhibition dedicated to the artists active in the Pto Andratx-S’Arracó area between 1920 – 1980 … all now disappeared. These include international artists who were attracted to the area in the days when it was an unspoiled, tranquil place. Drawn by the quality of the light and the opportunity for a simple life, many artists came to the area and some stayed for many years… and are now buried here. Local fishermen in the Port of Andratx also began to paint in the middle of the last century, and their vivid scenes of life at sea or in the port, enliven this show. The show will run until April 30 and will include painting, sculpture and video. An extraordinary chance to see work normally hidden away in private homes, rare images of world which has passed away.
On Easter Saturday our German friends will be delighted to know that well-known cabaret artist Martin Buchholz is perfoming his show “Freiheit für Angela” in the Sa Taronja theatre. Advance bookings available.
As you can see, things are moving at Sa Taronja! Come by and see us on a sunny Saturday or Sunday morning (11-14:00) and enjoy a coffee, a drink, and a conversation…in April, our members bar will be able to offer you excellent coffee, at last!
Sa Taronja is a growing cultural association, and needs your support! Become a member! We are also looking for all kinds of material and technical help. We are particularly looking for volunteers to help gallery-sit dring the forthcomming exhibition, and another team of volunteers to help our once a month at the classical concerts – in return for a free ticket, of course.
