We welcome SIKANAM, a new Mallorcan intercultural association which has organized a day of African activities including dance, music, films, and typical African BBQ. Sa Taronja will open its doors at 11 a.m.
11:30 - 12:30 h: Beginners DJEMBE workshop by master drummer and leading exponent of African music Seydou Sissokho, assisted by his students of the BANASANOU group. Cost: 15€ if you need us to provide a Djembe, 10€ for students with their own instrument.
11:30 - 12:30 h: African Dance workshop directed by Malick, under the watchful eye of Dance mistress Diabou. Cost: 10 €. Reduced prices for children or students of Banasanou.
11:30 - 12:30 h : Films about Casamance, the greenest province of Senegal, and videos of Senegalese drumming seminars. (Gratis)
13:00 Presentation of the intercultural association SIKANAM
13:30 DIBITERI - a typical Senegalese barbecue. There will also be a choice of chicken cous cous or vegetarian option. 10 €.

15:30 - 17:30 Demonstration by the percussion students of Banasanou (students from 6 to 60)
19:00 BANASANOU A concert by Djembe master Seydou Sissokho and his band. 8 €, Members: 5 €. Among the instruments will be the kora, a 21-stringed instrument traditionally played for kings….. and other surprises.
Part of the funds raised will go to the Sikanam Intercultural Association.
