The Snow Queen is an opera in two acts produced for and with children, presented by the Komische Opera Berlin (Comic Opera House, Berlin).
This unique fairytale was written by Hans Christian Andersen in 1845 and adapted in 2010 by Pierangelo Valtinoni and Paolo Madron for the children's choir of the Komische Oper Berlin. Eighty children aged 6 to 16 years to sing, play and dance in various solo and choral roles on the big stage.
Since its Première in October 2010 this piece has become a classic. All three seasons were completely sold out, the atmosphere in the hall was like a rock concert and motivated many children to join the professional children's choir. Its success led to the production a highly professional DVD, which Sa Taronja will be showing on 26th July in the presence of director Anisha Bondy and conductor Carlos Spierer.
A unique opportunity to show this latest form of new musical theater to the (German-speaking) children of Mallorca.
