MEANER PENCIL
“Meaner Pencil uses the cello like another voice and sings like a cello”.
“Meaner Pencil” is Lenna Pierce, a singing cellist from New York whose style is influenced by blues, post-punk, and romantic opera. She uses her songs to glorify everyday experiences and acts of kindness, but is also willing to face the darkness. (Her latest album, Senza Amanti, was named album of the day by a New York radio station last March).
Lenna’s eerie, ethereal voice is underscored by the melancholy tones of the cello… as her often heartbreaking lyrics describe the daily struggles of life.
Free admission.
Reservations: 971 235 268 - Limón y Chelo 8.30 p.m.

The
East (2013), directed by Zal Batmanglij.
Former FBI agent Sarah Moss (Brit Marling) is starting a new career at Hiller Brood, an elite private intelligence firm that ruthlessly protects the interests of its A-list corporate clientele. Handpicked for a plum assignment by the company's head honcho, Sharon (Patricia Clarkson), Sarah goes deep undercover to infiltrate The East, an elusive anarchist collective seeking revenge against major corporations guilty of covering up criminal activity. Determined, highly-trained and resourceful, Sarah soon ingratiates herself with the group, overcoming their initial suspicions and joining them on their next action or "jam." But living closely with the intensely committed members of The East, Sarah finds herself torn between her two worlds as she starts to connect with anarchist Benji (Alexander Skarsgård) and the rest of the collective, and awakens to the moral contradictions of her personal life.

He died in 1915. The other is Herbert Schiffl, now over 80, well-known to locals as a man who took his destiny in his hands and moved to the island to start farming in S’Arraco in the seventies - using traditional methods, and living off the land. FILM CLUB in Sa Nau
'The Weather Underground' (2002), by Sam Green and Bill Siegel.
Thirty years ago a group of young American radicals announced their intention to overthrow the U.S. government. Fueled by outrage over the Vietnam War and racism in America, they went underground during the 1970s, bombing targets across the country that they felt symbolized “the real violence” that the U.S. government and capitalist power were wreaking throughout the world. From pitched battles with police on Chicago’s city streets, to bombing the U.S. Capitol building, to breaking acid-guru Timonthy Leary out of prison, this carefully organized clandestine network attempted to incite a national revolution, while successfully evading one of the largest FBI manhunts in history. One of the top documentaries of the year, this award-winning film interweaves extensive archival material with modern-day interviews to explore the incredible story of THE WEATHER UNDERGROUND. Nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 2004 Academy Awards.
Sa Nau opens at 8 p.m. with bar and pinchos. Film starts at 9 p.m. FREE
